Focus, and the Power of Your Thoughts

The Power of Your Thoughts
by Daniel N. Brown
If you're like me you have often started on something new with
great positive energy and everything seemed to go well in the
beginning. Then, after only just a few short days, your enthusiasm
began to wain.
Why do we do that? We always seem to start off new projects with
such great zeal and passion. But, after a while we sometimes
grow tired. Our positive energy begins to turn negative and our
thoughts begin to work against us. Before we know it we begin
creating things we do NOT want.
It all starts when we lose our focus on what we originally wanted!
Life gets in the way and we are forced to attend to other things that
have absolutely nothing to do with our new project. It seems by the
time we got back to our original project our enthusiasm we once
had for it has lost it's freshness.
This is what went wrong; We lost control over our thoughts when
the urgent things in life had to be delt with. At that point we stopped
creating the things we wanted in our lives by changing our focus to
the things that are currently going on.
Here's the bottom line; You must remain in control of your thoughts
at all times in order to make the most of your life. Thoughts are
powerful forces of energy and can only come from your own mind.
Since you are the only one in charge of your mind, you create the
thoughts that create the circumstances in your life. Since your thoughts
create reality, YOU create your reality.
Just as the conscious mind is the source of thought, so the
subconscious mind is the source of power. You give
instructions to your subconscious mind through your
thoughts. It doesn't know good from bad or right from wrong.
It only follows your instructions, which are your thoughts.
It will create anything you tell it.
Pay attention to your thoughts. Analyze them and listen to
what you are thinking. Then decide if these are good
thoughts, bad thoughts or needless thoughts. Decide if these
thoughts work for you or against you.
Take control of your thoughts and make the most of your
life. Remember, the Bible says, “Whatsoever things are true,
honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there be any
virtue, or any praise, think on these things” (Phil 4:8).
So, the next time you start on something new with great positive
energy, remember it won't be long before something urgent will
try to steal your focus. When that urgent circumstance is over
make a conscious effort to get your focus back on what you were
originally doing.
