How Satan Steals Our Dreams

by Daniel N. Brown

Life is full of problems. But, where do all these problems
come from? Many times our problems are a result of our own
choices, and sometimes, the choices of others. But, despite
our problems, we still can enjoy our lives.

Every person should enjoy life in abundance and prosperity,
but unfortunately, too many of God's people are living way
below their potential. So many have health issues, broken
relationships, no money in their bank account, and many
other issues.

Even though some people want to blame others for their
misfortunes, or even blame God, most of these types of
problems are the result of what is going on in the minds of
those who experience them.

In our minds there are always four voices being heard - our
own voice, another person's voice, God's voice, and the
devil's voice. Which one we obey is based on our ability to
discern. Because the devil's voice is the loudest and the
most obnoxious, coming at us from all directions, and even
flowing out of the mouths of other people, it's usually his
voice we hear most often.

Discerning voices can be difficult sometimes because the
devil disguises his voice rather well. But, as one grows in
their Christian walk, the ability to discern becomes much
easier.

We must understand that the mind is a battlefield. It's
where our decisions are made based on who's direction we are
following. Who's direction we follow will ultimately
determine where we end up. Since Satan is the ultimate dream
stealer, he wants us to follow his direction so he can
destroy us.Here's how he does it...

In many self-help books, they say to "Always begin with the
end in mind." That is, to have a mental picture of the way
we would like for our lives to be. Now, I'm sure you have an
idea of how you would like for your life to be, but how
focused are you? Are you focused at all?

You see, it's right there where the battle is won or lost!
Satan will do everything in his power to deter us from the
dream God has shown us. Satan is a dream stealer and wants
to set up strongholds in our minds to hold us in bondage due
to certain ways of thinking. He does this by planting
thoughts in our heads, and in the heads of others so they
may speak negative words to us. Then, if we buy into this
negative talk and begin to speak it out of our mouths, it
will take us places we do not want to go.

Our mind is a battlefield, and if we are going to win, we
have got to know our opponent and how the game is played.

Understand that the devil is more focused on our dreams than
we are! And, he is determined to keep us from them. If he
can keep us from achieving our objectives, he doesn't have
to be as concerned about us interfering with his.

Yes, life is full of problems. But, those problems don't
have to be so many, nor do they have to last so long. After
all, we are put on the earth for God to enjoy us, and for us
to enjoy Him. When we get close to God we will recognize His
voice and then follow His direction, therefore defeating the
devil and his vicious plan to wipe us out. Just like the old
hymn says, "There is victory in Jesus!"
