In the Bible prosperity is one of the most popular topics, and those who understand biblical prosperity can understand why. It’s God’s desire that all His children prosper and be in health, even as their souls prosper (3 John 1:2).

Why does it appear that most people on earth, including followers of Christ, never really experience biblical prosperity? It all comes down to one thing… our thinking processes.

In the Bible prosperity always chases those whose thoughts are lined up with God’s thoughts, or the Word of God. We can see this in these three points…

1. In the Bible prosperity can be understood in Proverbs 23:7, “As a man thinks, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).

Most of what we are experiencing has been attracted by our own thoughts. Since our thoughts create reality, we create our reality, whether our reality is positive or negative. Biblical prosperity then is a choice we make, for or against it.

2. In the Bible prosperity can be understood in Mark 9:23, “According to your faith, be it done unto you.”

Here again we see that biblical prosperity is a choice we make for our lives. when Jesus spoke this powerful truth He was putting the responsibility for our own welfare in our own hands (or mouth).

3. In the Bible prosperity can be understood in Deuteronomy 30:19, “I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore, choose life!

Certainly, God has given us a massive resource… our mind. Along with it He’s given us free will to choose what we’ll do with it. Shouldn’t we Use it responsibly by choosing proper thoughts? Surely, biblical prosperity will only come to those who use their minds responsibly.

Conclusion

In the Bible prosperity can best be understood by grasping what God says about our responsibilities. Most of our responsibilities come from our thoughts. Obtaining biblical prosperity is simple. When we understand that our thoughts are mighty forces of energy, we know then that most things just don’t happen coincidentally.
