You know, I get asked quite often by people who just meet me if I’m the same Dan Brown who wrote the DaVinci Code Book.

The answer is, No, I’m not. That’s why I go by “Daniel N. Brown” or “Daniel Neilson Brown” instead of “Dan Brown,” although my friends call me “Dan.”

I never really wanted to be famous like “Dan Brown,” because I’m a very private guy, but I find myself trying to be less so. I figure how much can I really help anyone if I keep to myself?

Anyway, to tell you a little bit…

I’ve been married to my wife, Peggy since 1992 and we have a son, Blair, and a daughter, Danielle.

My favorite things to do are spending time with my wife and kids, playing my guitar and drums, writing music, selling stuff online, and teaching success principles.

I used to love to fix up junk houses and sell them, but not so much anymore. Well, I still love it. I just don’t do it much anymore because the economy is so lousy. Hopefully, things will pick up again and I can get back to it.

Right now, I mainly sell products online and blog about success principles. My main blogs are this one, the “Secret Place Christian Living Blog,” and my drumming blog.

I’ve played drums since I was 10 years old. I also play lead guitar and bass as well. I even play a little keyboard. Definitely not my best instrument though, even though I have played for a couple of weddings.

Another great love of mine is acting. I’ve done quite a number of plays and skits in church. Many of them I wrote and directed myself. I’ve even done some community theater. Too bad there’s no money in it.

Speaking of money… many people ask me if I know of a way to make good money online since I do blogging. Unfortunately, the answer is “no.” The Internet is full of scams and rip off artists just trying to get into your pocket! I know… I’ve been ripped off more than once!

Christian Entrepreneurship

As an entrepreneur myself, I’ve learned many hard lessons pertaining to business, and life in general.

In fact, not so many years ago, I had struggled with depression, anger, fear, doubt, confusion, dead end jobs, business failures, financial lack, recurring sicknesses, and poor relationships. I found myself continuously frustrated with low pay, unappreciation, and insecurity.

But, these hardships have taught me many things about success and failure (along with many books, tapes, sermons, and seminars).

As an avid reader, I’ve always had a thirst for knowledge of why and how things work. But even though I’ve studied much, there’s still no substitute for experience! Experience always has been, and always will be the best teacher!

Through my own successes, failures, and the contributions of knowledge from others, I hope to save you a lot of time and heartache by passing along what I’ve learned, as it’s my desire to help those who may be in similar circumstances as I once was.

By learning from someone’s mistakes, you can really save some valuable time and money! Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another!”

Christian Living … My Prosperity Message

You will find that my prosperity message is unlike any other prosperity message you may have heard before. Mainly because the world teaches that prosperity primarily involves money.

While having plenty of money helps, by itself it cannot define true prosperity. Many people have an abundance of income, but they may have a zero in their checkbook because they’ve overextended themselves for whatever reason. It seems the more money we make, the more we tend to spend!

That’s exactly why we cannot solve money problems with money. Money problems are solved by the same way any other problem is solved: with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

So, true prosperity is not just about finances and possessing a good income. It’s having wholeness and abundance in every area of your life, which includes your health, your relationships, and your finances.

So never judge a book by its cover. Someone living in a mansion could be in there cryin’ the blues. On the other hand, someone living in a “not so glamorous” house is happy.

The Secret Place …and the Problem With Most Prosperity Teachers and Christian Blogs

Most prosperity teachers claim that life ought to be smooth sailing and you should never encounter difficulty because somehow, you can manipulate “the Universe” into giving you anything you want through the Law of Attraction.

Now, I do believe in the Law of Attraction. Just not in the way the teachers of “The Secret” have taught it. I do NOT believe in leaving God out of the equation…there is His divine will to consider!

There are many self-help websites and books on prosperity out there that use God as a crutch for people to get what they want, referring to God as, “The Universe,” “A Cosmic Force,” or “Your Higher Self.”

God is a personality with feelings. After all, we were made in His image; therefore, a person should seek His face, and not just His hand. He wants us to have a relationship with Him and wants us to dwell in the Secret Place!

What is the “secret place?” Its a place of trust. Refer to Psalm 91: “I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and I abide under the shadow of the Almighty, Who’s power no foe can withstand. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him I trust.”

Christian Living …and the Facts Concerning Your Well-being

Life is filled with all kinds of challenges and problems, as you may well know. The reason its filled with obstacles is because there is a devil who’s only purpose …is to wreck your life!

Now, the problems he puts in your way do not determine your successes or failures. It’s what you think and say about these things that will ultimately determine your successes or failures. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but I came that you may have life and have life more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Understand that you have already been given abundance and prosperity, but the devil is continually trying to rob you! There’s spiritual warfare going on in the heavenly realm, and it will continue until the day Christ returns, which is closer than many of us realize!

2 Key Prosperity Scriptures

Two key prosperity Scriptures to always remember are these:

“Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4), and “I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me” (Romans 8:37). There is spiritual warfare going on, and the real key to your victory is in applying the power of God to your life!

You can live in prosperity simply because you have been given authority over the enemy. You may just need to know how to operate in that authority by learning how to pray effectively!

God takes great pleasure in our prosperity (Psalm 35:27)! His plan for wealth, financial prosperity, good health, quality relationships, and every other type of prosperity can be found in His Word, so arm yourself with the “secrets” of prosperity found in Scripture.

These so-called secrets of prosperity are actually keys found within Scripture that release the power of God that few people read about in other Christian blogs. Either because so few know about them, or they are just simply misunderstood, is the only reason they remain “secrets.”

Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “Give attention to My Words, incline your ear to My sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes, but keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh.”

Why You Should Live Your Best Life Now

There is victory in Jesus’ name, and you were meant to live in the fullness of life… And, since there is victory in Jesus, your life should overflow to the point that not only are your needs meet, but you are also able to meet the needs of others.

God wants you to live in overflow so you can consider the needs of your neighbor and be in a position to override misfortune in his or her life (2 Corinthians 9:8-11).

Those who are opposed or turned off to biblical prosperity lessons are simply uninformed or mislead by other Christian blogs and teachers, or may just be generally selfish people who are only concerned with themselves and their own lives!

Good Christian living is about dying to oneself and putting others first. If you can do this, you will find yourself in a much better position to receive God’s best!
